FAQ’s

Accessibility

Is the clinic accessible for people with mobility needs?
Yes. The front entrance on Kingsway is wheelchair and disability-friendly.

What if I park at the back?
The back entrance from Hay Lane has stairs, so if you need step-free access, we recommend parking in the Hay Lane car park. From there, you can:

  1. Enter via Caringbah Family Practice
  2. Take the elevator to Level 1
  3. Walk through Cincotta Chemist and exit to the front entrance
  4. Enter the clinic step-free from Kingsway

Our staff are always happy to help guide you if needed. If you need some help! Give us a ring and we will come down with a wheelchair to help out.

Consultations

What happens in my first appointment?
Your initial consultation will take about 1 hour. During this time, your practitioner will:
  • Go over your paperwork and medical history
  • Chat with you about your condition, goals, and lifestyle
  • Carry out some assessments (strength, gait, fine motor control, transfers, balance, mobility, sensation, function, etc.) to get a clear baseline
  • Create a personalised plan and start you on an evidence-based exercise program designed for your needs
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
  • No referral needed for most clients.
  • Yes if you are claiming under Medicare or DVA.
  • In some cases, if your health needs are more complex, we may ask for a doctor’s clearance just to ensure it’s safe for you to exercise.
How long are the sessions?
Most sessions are 1 hour, including both your first and follow-up consultations. If you need something different, we can adjust to suit your goals and circumstances.
What should I bring and wear?
Bring along:
  • Any medical paperwork or referrals
  • Your Medicare or private health insurance card (if relevant)
  • Any assistive devices you normally use
  • Comfortable clothing you can move in, supportive shoes, and a bottle of water
Can I bring a family member or carer?
Of course! Family and carers are always welcome. Our friendly staff can also lend a hand with things like paperwork, transfers, and clinic access to make your visit as easy as possible.

Funding & Schemes

Do you see NDIS clients?
Yes, we are a registered NDIS provider. We’ll communicate directly with you, your plan manager, or support coordinator to make the process smooth and stress-free.

Can I claim through Medicare?
Yes. If your GP provides a Team Care Arrangement (TCA), you may be eligible for Medicare-rebatable sessions. Pensioners under this scheme do not pay a gap fee.

Do you accept Workcover or CTP?
Yes. All of our practitioners are SIRA-accredited, which means we can provide treatment under Workcover and CTP schemes as part of your recovery journey.

What about private health insurance?
We accept all major private health funds. Just bring your card and we can process your rebate on the spot through our HICAPS machine. You’ll only need to pay any gap fee if it applies.

Can I use a DVA card?
Yes. We work with clients who hold Gold or White DVA cards. You’ll just need a GP referral for your initial consultation. With your permission, we’ll also keep in touch with your doctor to make sure your care is well coordinated.
